Terms of Use

The ground rules for using this site — and what using it does and doesn't create.

These terms cover your use of the website. The work itself is governed by a separate signed agreement.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of schemaconsult.com, operated by Schema Consulting, LLC ("Schema," "we," "us"). By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. When you engage Schema for services, a separate signed agreement governs that work; these Terms cover the website itself.

1

Who we are

Schema Consulting, LLC is a family-systems consulting practice based in Seattle, Washington, serving family enterprises, family offices, and the advisors who work with them. This site is a way to learn about that work and to book it.

2

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use this site or book a consultation.

3

The nature of our services

Schema provides strategy, structure, facilitation, and coaching for families in business. Using this site, reading its content, booking or attending an exploratory call, or corresponding with us does not, by itself, create a consulting, advisory, fiduciary, therapist–client, attorney–client, or other professional relationship.

A working relationship begins only when both parties sign an engagement agreement. That agreement — not this website — defines the scope, terms, and confidentiality of the work.

4

Not therapy, not legal or financial advice

Schema is not therapy, counseling, or medical care, and does not diagnose or treat any condition. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax, or clinical advice, and nothing here should be relied on as a substitute for advice from a licensed professional in those fields. The site's content is educational and general in nature. For the full framing of what Schema does and doesn't do, see our Policies & Ethics.

5

Booking & consultations

We schedule calls through Calendly. A free introductory call is exploratory — a chance to see whether we're a fit — and is not itself advice or a commitment to engage. Please give reasonable notice to reschedule or cancel. Paid sessions and engagements are subject to the payment terms below and to your signed agreement.

6

Fees, payments & refunds

Fees are as quoted at the time of booking or in your engagement agreement. Some services may be paid online through a third-party payment processor; others are invoiced or pre-paid as arranged separately. Where a session or engagement is pre-paid, the applicable cancellation and refund terms are those set out at booking and in your signed agreement, which governs in the event of any conflict. Online payments are handled by third-party processors subject to their own terms, and we do not store full payment-card details.

7

Intellectual property

The content on this site — text, design, graphics, and Schema's frameworks, methods, and terminology — is owned by Schema Consulting, LLC or used with permission, and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and share the site for personal, non-commercial reference. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, sell, or create derivative works from it, or use Schema's proprietary frameworks and materials, without our written permission.

8

Acceptable use

Please use the site lawfully and in good faith. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to disrupt the site or gain unauthorized access to it or its systems
  • Scrape, harvest, or use automated means to collect data from the site
  • Use the site to harass, harm, or impersonate others
  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
9

Third-party links & services

The site uses and links to third-party services — including Squarespace, Calendly, our payment processor, social platforms, and Relationship Capital. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content, terms, or practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

10

Testimonials & results

Any testimonials or descriptions of past work reflect particular situations and are not promises of any specific outcome. Family and business circumstances differ, and we don't guarantee results.

11

Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We work to keep the site accurate and functioning, but we don't warrant that it will be error-free or always accessible.

12

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Schema Consulting, LLC and Savannah Berry Suttle will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or relating to your use of this site, and our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed the amount, if any, you paid us for access to it. This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Liability arising from an actual engagement is addressed in your signed agreement.

13

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Schema Consulting, LLC and Savannah Berry Suttle from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the site or your violation of these Terms.

14

Confidentiality of engagements

This website is not a confidential channel. Information you submit through it or share in an initial inquiry is handled under our Privacy Policy. Confidentiality within an actual engagement — including who the "client" is and how information is treated — is described in our Policies & Ethics and governed by your signed agreement.

15

Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the site or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

16

Resolving disputes

Before bringing any claim, you agree to contact us first and try, in good faith, to resolve the matter informally. Most concerns can be sorted out quickly that way.

17

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the site means you accept the updated Terms. We'll update the date above.

18

General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and — for clients — your signed engagement agreement, are the entire agreement between us regarding the site.
